 Rover vs Leopards - test/tune
So I picked up a set of Leopards and Proline two stage foams for the Limited and have been doing some testing to see which way I want to go. The idea is to be able to use the Leopards in Limited class so I'll be trying to avoid siping the tyres.
So far.
Rovers, stock rover foam with a memory foam outer. Around 250g in each front wheel and 80 in the rears mounted on vented TTS comp locks
Leopards, Proline 2 stage foams. Around 210 in each front and 75 in the rear on vented RC4WD alloys.
On my home course there's some high taction (rough concrete) and volcanic rock mixed with some slick flagstone, some logs, timber bridges and bush rock.
So far the Leopards have driven everything that the Rovers do with the exception for straight climbs on the slick rock, the Leopards do also struggle a little on the rough concrete climbs compared to the Rovers. The Leopards definitely have the advantage on sidehills, just need to work on some forward bite. Next step is to soften the foams a little and see what happens.
If anyone has any input please post up, hopefully someone can save me undoing beadlock bolts a dozen or more times by sharing their knowledge.
