Post Aussie's 3.2 outlaw
I have started on the conversion to turn the berg into a outlaw. So far I have got all the long tubes. I also got my 3.2 Nova's ark dual stage foams today, I also got some 9t pinions, so hopefully I will have enough gear down.

So far the specs will be

Berg v2 with dual long sides
RW racing 9t mod .6 pinions
Racers Edge futaba servo horns
Dual or triple MKS HV300 servos
Rover whites, pinks or Sedonas
Novas Ark dual stage 3.2 foams
Custom Eritex 3.2, inch wide, 14mm hex rims
Custom DX6i pistol
Twin FXR
HH 35t
Titanuim upper links
Delrin lowers
HPI firestorm front shocks
Super 300s

Nice. who will make the wheels for you.
I would love to know how you turned a dx6 into a pistol radio.
is your mod still capable of running the full 6 channels.

Eritex are making the wheels http://eritexinc.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=index. I also think theres a bit of a build thread under electrical for the wheel 6i... adn yes you can use all 6 channels. He had me very seriously thinking about one late last year, but more important things have come up.

The wheels are being made by a fellow in the US who runs Eritex, jump on Rccrawler if you want to know more about him. BTW Jorgo they are made to look like vanquish V3 SLWs, but they flat out refused to make custom rims. Ah well Eritex did what I wanted so it doesn't really matter. Thanks for chiming in on the radio jorgo, yeah I have a thread on it in the electronics forum.

Updates? Or you run out of coin

So I'm guessing it'll be a twin plate chassis?

Cheers Pricey.

Nope I haven't ran out of coin, I just am waiting for the proto tester super 300s to be machined. I should order some HV300s though. I am not sure if I will run the 2.2 bodiless chassis or get a new one cut. The bodiless chassis is seriously out of proportion, but in a way it looks kinda cool, I'll post some pics soon.

Thanks Shorty

Here are some VERY early mockups. So far it should be about a 16" wheel base with a 12.2" track width. Keep in mind that the foams don't accurately represent the final width and height of the tires. Also the chassis may not be final.

Waiting for parts is the main reason this rig is not up and running. At the moment I'm still waiting on cvds and wheels. Also I have a new toy to play with. I got myself a F/E boat. 4s and brushless should go alright. Wonder if they have a RC section of bundy thunder  Yeah the firestorms are completely alloy and I got mine on ebay.

Still nothing to add. CVD's are still waiting on machinist I believe and wheels are still at anodizing. So who knows when this will be running. Off topic but I got my 4 cell lipos yesterday, now I just need some 4s balance leads for the balancer and I can run the boat.

turnigy 5000mah 25c for $40 US a piece off HobbyKing. Better than paying $150 or whatever the local hobby shop would want! Just wish I knew if the charge leads where shipped. Pisses me off when ebay companies don't let you know if it is shipped or not!

Put an order in to TCS and CKRC. Much as I dislike the second company they had rovers and berg 4th gears in stock, which TCS didn't. And I got lockers from TCS. I should have got some bearings but I still haven't made up my mind with them. Look out for updates sometime the week after next hopefully. Also I am working on the details of a new CrawlerX custom bodiless chassis.

Righto time to get this rolling again. I picked up a minature lathe this week and CKRC decided it was about time to ship my order. So look out for more updates soon. I got the lockers turned down today, so V2 owners there is another option for super 300s. Hopefully it will hold up, but if they hold up with 3.2s for me I think they should hold up for anyone with 2.2s. Also got one axle fairly well asembled. Servo mounts are next up.

Hey Keiren, just wondering what the total width of those axles are between the outsides of the hexes?

If I were to do this over i'd go with bullies, just cause of the price and inheret toughness out of the box. These have been money pits to get even close to bullet proof. And I still want super 300 gears when there out :D
