well i mounted the back cage today also and encountered a problem were i want the front cab to sit and with the cage installed i had about roughly 25mm gap between the cab and cage... Attachment:

Re: Greastermans 1.55 SXC10 hybrid scaler
i got if off ebay but ckrccrawlers.com and rpphobby.com are selling them too.
as for the screws i was missing 4 in total 2 of the cage screws and 2 for the lexan piece.
kind of wishing i dod not cut it out and paint yet cause of the extension i had to do, so im going to try to get another if i can...

Can you move the chassis mount forward for the front shackles to get a better angle ? Otherwise, liking this build Bring back the leaf

Re: Greastermans 1.55 SXC10 hybrid scaler
Might also want to look at your caster, your front wheels are going to steer down to the ground.

Re: Greastermans 1.55 SXC10 hybrid scaler
1:1 scissor shackles provide heaps of travel, usually uncontrolled travel that provides little or no traction often resulting in diffs flopping around and hopping.
On your set up, the more the bottom of the front shackle is to the front of the car (to an extent) the more up travel you will have, the more the bottom of your shackle is to the rear of the car the more down travel you will have, you'll find this would be your best and most stable set up.
If your battery is going under the bonnet your shackle angle will come back closer to where it should be with the weight applied.

Re: Greastermans 1.55 SXC10 hybrid scaler update 11/2/10
hey all got some more done today, got the front cab mounted and the rear one too, just have to make up some mounts for the side mounting of the front cab. tranny is in and also made up some spacers to go between the leaf springs and bolts to remove the sloppy movement.. just need to mount up all the electrics and wait for the rear axle leaf mount to arrive add some paint and its running, got a few scale accessories coming to they should be here soon pics: the leaf end spacer i made out of plastic tube Attachment:

Re: Greastermans 1.55 SXC10 hybrid scaler update 11/2/10
ok were to start, this morning i started with the cab glued the reign cab back in and bogged it up to smooth out the joins (used tamiya putty), let it set for 5 hours, touched it all over to test for softness and it was all good. So started to sand and it was still moist in some areas which was ok so got past that and found that the tamiya putty had melted the shell in some areas so that really ticked me off so i kept sanding and primed it and painted it. looks ok but will do another body when i get the extra coin. any way got the servo in and set up had to change the screw on the turn knuckle to a longer one, then space it big time to clear the leaf spring. Once that was in i made a electrics plate out of 2mm styrenne then mounted it on the servo and chassis, flipped my tranny to miss the reign cab plate heard it also reduces torque twist?? installed the rear leafs as the new leaf mount arrived today, drilled the hole for rear hangar bolted up the rear end. had to chop the male side of the drive shafts about 8mm so they would fit cause its a lil shorter than origional scx10. cleaned up all the wires addedsome scale accessories and gave it a quick test drive to make sure it drove straight and so on. now with the pics will be taking it out for a scale run either this sunday or next friday.
